The services of Well Pet Mobile Vet are not meant to substitute for a relationship with a full service veterinary hospital. Scheduling conflicts, relief shifts, and lack of equipment for x-rays, surgery, and hospitalization, may result in some pets needing to go to a full service hospital.
That said, the benefits of a house-call vet are numerous:
- Pets are generally more relaxed in their home environment.
- The waiting area is more comfortable for their people.
- There are no unpleasant interactions with other pets who may be contagious, or just grouchy, to yours.
- As an established client of Well Pet Mobile Vet, you may purchase refills of necessary medications at Vetsource’s convenient on-line pharmacy. Also, if a human equivalent exists, prescriptions may be called in to the pharmacy of your choice.
Just as humans may have a regular family doctor but go elsewhere for an urgent care appointment, physical therapy, diagnostics, or surgery, having more than one veterinary professional caring for your pet can be a good thing. Following a house-call exam or any diagnostics, Dr. Wilson will send you a copy of the findings for your pet’s medical file. This will enable any other veterinarian, including specialists, to quickly and accurately learn about your pet’s medical history.
